    It is important to know that IEBGENER and ICEGENER belong to IBM's DFSort product.

    When Syncsort's Better Gener has been installed at your site, we make every effort to transfer the execution of IEBGENER and ICEGENER jobs to Syncsort MFX.  And these transfers also do not require any modifications on your part.  Also, please note that if MFX cannot perform any IEBGENER or ICEGENER job, then we simply transfer the job back to the original program on the EXECUTE statement in your JCL.

    Good point, Rekha. 

    This approach allows sites to benefit from MFX performance enhancements while maintaining the same application interfaces and operational procedures. It's a great example of how MFX integrates into existing environments with minimal disruption.

    One aspect worth highlighting is that Better Gener is designed to be transparent to existing applications and JCL. While IEBGENER and ICEGENER are IBM utilities, MFX can automatically intercept and process eligible jobs through Better Gener without requiring JCL changes.

    Great insights, Rekha. One of the biggest advantages of Better Gener is the seamless experience it provides to customers. Organizations can take advantage of MFX performance and efficiency improvements while continuing to use their existing JCL and operational processes without modification. The automatic fallback to the original utility when needed also helps maintain compatibility and reliability, making the transition virtually transparent to end users.
