    MapInfo Pro has a handful of features that require you to have signed up for a FREE account. These features require interaction with a server-side component for processing or data access.

    These features include access to

    • the Precisely Maps; 3 tile server base maps based on OpenStreetMap but with Precisely styling.
    • the MapInfo Marketplace; an online store with typically free MapBasic tools that add specific capabilities to MapInfo Pro
    • Precisely Geocoding; global geocoding using the Precisely APIs
    • Precisely Drive Region calculations; global drive regions based on time or distance for many countries across the globe

      The last two are credit-based services, which means they have a cost associated with them. However, your MapInfo Pro account comes with 2,000 monthly credits that can be used for these services. You can also purchase additional credits if needed.

      Sign Up Process

      You sign up for an account via the Services tab on the Backstage. Start by clicking on the Pro tab, then select the Services tab. Now click on the Sign Up Now button.

      You will now be taken to the Sign Up dialog in your browser.
      Enter the required details. If an account has already been created for the entered email, you will be notified to use this email to sign in.
      Make sure to familiarize yourself with the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policies. You find links to these in the dialog.
      After clicking the Create Account button, we process your request. If the creation is successful, you will have to complete your registration via a link that we have sent to you via email.
      When you check your mailbox, you should find an email from Precisely. Click on the Verify Email button.
      You will be taken to a website where you must create a password for your account and complete your registration.
      Now jump back into MapInfo Pro and click on the small Login link on the Services tab. A new small embedded browser window will ask you to enter your account email.
      And then enter the password you created for your account
      When you have signed in, the Services tab will give you details about your account.
      You can see the Plan Type, the amount of credits that you have available and used, and when a new quota will start.
      You can click on the Manage Account button if you need additional credits for geocoding a larger pool of addresses or creating more drivetime regions. This will take you to the My Account page. You must enter your email and password to access the My Account page.
      Here you can update your plan to get more credits. If you need even more credits that these updated plans give you access to, reach out to your partner or your contact at Precisely.
      After signing into your account in MapInfo Pro, you can take advantage of the additional options mentioned at the beginning of this article.
      Unless you upgrade your plan to get more credits, all this is free and so included in your MapInfo Pro.
