MapInfo Pro has several labeling rules that can be applied to layers helping you to get most labels displayed in the best possible way on your map.

You can access these via the Labeling Rules tab in the Layer Properties dialog where you can tweak and set these to meet your requirements.

You can use the Preview button to see how your settings affect the labels.
Or you can use the Label Rules gallery on the Labels tab to apply several settings with a single click.
Let me show you what effect these settings have on a layer of polygons.
Be aware that when you apply a Label Rule from the gallery, the Label Overlap option is always set to Disgard Labels.

    Auto Size

MapInfo Pro will size the labels to fit inside the polygons. If the label still can't fit within the polygon, it will be discarded and not shown.

    Auto Size with Callout

This is similar to Autosize and in some cases, it will result in the same map. The difference is that MapInfo Pro will try to move labels that don't fit inside the polygon outside with a callout between the polygon and the label. This will only happen if the polygon isn't surrounded by other polygons on all sides.

    Auto Size with Overflow

Again very similar to Auto Size. The difference is that labels that can't be completely inside the polygon are allowed to overflow using the minimum label size.

    Auto Position

MapInfo Pro will calculate the best position for the labels to be drawn. The labels still need to be confined in the polygon to get rendered.

    Auto Position with Callout

Similar to Auto Position but now we allow MapInfo Pro to render labels that don't fit inside the polygon to get rendered outside with a callout between the polygon and the label.

    Auto Position with Overflow

Again a set of rules similar to Auto Position. The difference here is that labels that aren't confined in the polygon are allowed to overflow and will still get rendered.

    Centroid

This is the basic label setting for polygons. MapInfo Pro will render the label at the centroid of the polygon.
This method would be your choice if you have adjusted the position of the centroids of your polygons to control the placement of the label.
Are you using the Label Rules to apply a set of label rules onto your layers?
