  • 1.  Layout Window Text (Labels) Truncating

    Hello All,

I think this may have been mentioned previously, but I can't seem to find a solution.

When printing a layout window to PDF some of the labels are truncated.

The labelling is done in the Map window from within the layout.

I have tried printing to Adobe and the MapInfo PDF Printer.

This is also an issue when printing to a plotter.

Hopefully the samples below show what I mean.

    Example Showing Truncated Labels

Has anyone else had this issue of late and is there a "fix" for this very annoying issue?

    Many Thanks

    Gillian

    Hi Gillian

Does it happen for all labels or only the labels on the far right side of the map, close to the border of the map?

A closer look at the label "91 Campbell" shows that there is a top bit of the last l missing too - as if all text outside an invisible extent has been cut off.

    Hello Peter,

    Thanks for your reply.

It doesn't happen for all of the labels on the map.  It's not specific to labels closer to the borders, it can happen in the centre too.

It would be interesting to see in other users have experienced this.

Is this issue something I should escalate to the Precisely Help Centre?

    Many Thanks

    Gillian

    Hell again Peter,

I'm not sure if I should be replying to your email personally or via the portal.

I posted another message a short time ago, but thought I'd quickly share this comment.

I just edited the label and placed spaces at the end of each of the lines, and the label has plotted in full.  I'm not sure what this means.

    Layout Window                                                                                                                                                            PDF File

I've highlighted the text in the label Style box to show where I've added spaces.

It's a temporary workaround for the job I'm on, but not ideal and I'm not sure if it will work on all the labels.

This information may not be significant, but I thought I'd pass it on.

    Regards

    Gillian
