    Hello team

    I really like what you are enabling with Evolve Cloud Essentials. 

    In documentation part of the package is Worker that installed on Windows server to allow Server based runs like in old Studio Manager. 

    Is this mandatory or optional part of Cloud Essentials?

    Thank you for reaching out.

    Regarding your query, the core components of the Automate Evolve hosted architecture include: the Automate Evolve application server (Windows Server), a SQL Server database, an optional Worker Service, and a REST API layer.

    The Worker is an optional component - not a mandatory one.
    In the Evolve Cloud Worker is an optional component of the Cloud Essentials package. It should be installed when customers specifically need server-based/scheduled script execution. Customers who use only desktop-initiated runs or pure workflow- or forms-based automation do not need it.

     By default, the values of worker services in Prod and Dev type apps are set to 0, meaning no worker services are configured unless the customer explicitly requests them.

    Hi Tuomas, 

    Just want to add that the Manager/Worker Service in Evolve Cloud Essentials is responsible for managing jobs being sent for AutoRun/Schedule and also acts as the server Worker Agent for AutoRun use cases. This is the cloud equivalent of the server-side execution functionality familiar from the old Studio Manager - essentially enabling unattended, scheduled, or server-side script execution against SAP.

    Important: The Automate Evolve Cloud Worker is installed on-premises (on a Windows VM)  if required.

    a) What are the compatible Studio versions?  How is this compability maintained in the future?

    Right now you have only support same studio version as your Studio Manager is, but Studio Adminestrator can support any version 24.0 onwards.

    b) Also do I assume correctly that with Evolve Cloud Essentials, there would be only one enviroment, and there would not be a separete non-prod environment?

    Here are my responses to your questions below:

    -- For Evolve Cloud Essentials, compatible Studio versions are 26.1 and onwards.

     

    b) Also do I assume correctly that with Evolve Cloud Essentials, there would be only on enviroment, and there would not be a separete non-prod environment?

    ---We have applications(Apps) for that and no separate environments.
