Ironstream Discovery for ServiceNow for IBM Z app v7.6
We are very pleased to announce that an updated ServiceNow app is now generally available for Ironstream Discovery for IBM Z users. This updated release provides these new features:
CICS, DB2, IMS and MQ data in ServiceNow CMDB tables
Precisely is working very closely with ServiceNow to have data from Ironstream incorporated in standard (non-custom) tables within in the ServiceNow CMDB.
A previous version laid the foundations for this with limited information of CPC (physical machine), LPAR and SYSPLEX data. This new version adds the ability to store more discovered data in either new tables, or new fields within existing tables.
The following information can now be stored in standard tables:
- CICS: regions, CICSplex, transactions, programs
- Db2: subsystems, data sharing groups, databases
- IMS: subsystems and regions, databases, areas, transactions and programs
- MQ: Managers, channels and queues
The new functionality described here is implemented entirely within the v7.6 ServiceNow app. To obtain this app you will need to visit the ServiceNow Store. You will also need:
- The Windows component of Ironstream Discovery v7.5 installed on a ServiceNow MID server
- Ironstream z/OS agents at v7.5.1, or v7.4 with patch 'I' applied.
These software and patch levels are the latest at the time of writing and may change. Please go to the Precisely PDX portal to see if there is something newer, before implementation.
Please ensure you obtain and examine the Release Notes, Installation and Administration Guides before attempting implementation.
