    HI

Since 9th / 10th July 2024 we have had a problem running Winshuttle where a Query wants to work in Background Mode. The query runs but when entering the "Writing Data" stage we get a pop up Windows message as below "Error Occurred While Opening Excel".

If we remove the Background flag, the query runs ok. But this cannot be done with all queries where there is a level of complexity and Background mode is compulsory.

We have tried new excel workbooks and queries. Also re-installed Winshuttle and it worked ok until restarting the laptop.

This same query has been used many times in the last 12months

    Any ideas or experience appreciated

    (Winshuttle studio 20.3)

    Thx

    lee

    Hi Lee,

We experienced the same with Microsoft 365 excel version 2405 (Build 17628.20110)

I am now on version 2406 (Build 17726.20160) and able to run Query in background mode again.

    Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue, but already have version 2406 from Excel. Anyone with an idea/solution on how to solve this?

    Thanks!

Hi Winshuttle support fixed this for us by adjusting a .dll file. It was a genuine issue it seems with compatibility between MIcrosoft and WS
