Changes to the forthcoming release of US Business Summary

    Abstract

This Support Announcement describes changes to the forthcoming release of US Business Summary.

    Overview of Features and Functionality

    New in This Release

The text format delivery zip file contains additional boundary text files for census-based geography levels only.  The geometry of each boundary is represented in Well Known Text (WKT) format. These files are located in the data > census_boundaries folder of the delivery file.

    Changes in This Release

Eleven fields containing counts of business establishments by total sales ranges were removed from both the NAICS and SIC datasets:

Establishments: Total Sales Size A - Under $500K

    Establishments: Total Sales Size B - $500K to $999.9K

    Establishments: Total Sales Size C - $1M to $4.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size D - $5m to $9.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size E - $10M to $24.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size F - $25M to $74.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size G - $75M to $199.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size H - $200M to $499.9M

    Establishments: Total Sales Size I - $500M to $999.9M

Establishments: Total Sales Size J - Over $1 billion

Establishments: Total Sales Size U - Not Reported

This has resulted in 22 deleted fields from the Business Summary product, reducing it from 526 to 504 variables.
