  • 1.  BAPI for Sales View Create error

    Posted 09-04-2026 05:59

    Hi

I have tried creating a simple BAPI for creating the sales views and populating a few required fields but keep getting the error "Key fields for use data SALESDATA and checkbox structure SALESDATAX are different".

I checked both the SALESDATA and SALESDATAX selections and both are aligned and mirror each other. Can anyone shed any light on what the issue could be please?

I have attached the script and template to look at.

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew

Thank you for reaching out.If the steps below do not resolve the issue. Please create a support ticket at support.precisely.com.

Follow these steps to resolve the error:
    1. Open the BAPI/Direct script in Automate Studio.
    2. Go to the BAPI workspace and locate the SALESDATA and SALESDATAX structures.
    3. Verify key fields match: Ensure that all key fields present in SALESDATA (such as MATERIAL, SALES_ORG, DISTR_CHAN) are also present in SALESDATAX with the same structure.
    4. Check the X-flags: For every field you are updating in SALESDATA, the corresponding field in SALESDATAX must be set to X. For example: If only the old material number is to be changed - Structure CLIENTDATA contains the data value, and structure CLIENTDATAX must have that field set to X, while all other fields must be blank.
    5. Re-sync the BAPI metadata: If the structures were modified or the SAP system changed, use the Synchronize BAPI option in Studio to refresh the field metadata.
    6. Re-map the fields: After synchronization, re-map the fields in the Mapper, making sure duplicate or key fields are correctly mapped.

Hi Archana, I have performed these steps and am still getting the same error so have have raised a support request as per your guidance. Case PRE-00918457

Please let me know when you are able to connect to assist me. Hopefully, with such a basic BAPI, it should not take too long to resolve.

    Thnaks

    Hi Andrew,

The issue is here (see screenshot).

In SALESDATAX Sales Org should be mapped to column B and Distribution channel should match your default of 00. Any time you see the field name and not "Updated information in related user data field" in the X section, you want to match your upload cell or default value. If you change those 2 things, you should get past that error.

    How it should look
