Assure Security 7.0.19.00– Service Pack Notification

    Announcement

Precisely announces the release of Assure Security 7.0.19.00. This release provides either a new installation or an upgrade from all previous release levels of Assure Security 7.0 and 6.0.

Summary of Feature Additions or Changes

MFA Web UI – support for On-Demand Authentication

The Assure Security Web Interface for MFA now boasts enhanced support for a wider range of rule categories for On-Demand Authentication. Our newly redesigned Create Rule Wizard offers a seamless and intuitive experience, presenting only the most relevant options based on previous selections. This innovation simplifies the process and expertly guides users through their rule-definition journey.

This service pack includes current fixes and details of these fixes contained within this release can be found in the associated Release Notes. Precisely encourages customers to stay current by upgrading to the latest release of Assure Security.

    Reminder

    Encryption Mode Update and Impact

With the release of Service Pack 7.0.15.00 in April 2024, we added a new encryption mode, Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) to replace Counter (CTR) mode. If you upgraded to that Service Pack or later, all new encryption definitions use the CBC encryption mode. All encryption definitions created and activated prior to the 7.0.15.00 Service Pack are encrypted using the CTR encryption mode.

We want to remind you of the following information:

    • The new CBC mode of encryption provides a stronger encryption algorithm than the previous CTR mode.
    • We strongly encourage you to update to this feature as soon as feasible to provide continuous protection to your data.
    • The transition from CTR to CBC mode will require you to end field encryption on existing fields and start field encryption using a new field procedure definition. [The detail steps for discovering encrypted fields and changing them to the new mode can be found in the Assure Security Encryption documentation.]
    • If you are interested in a more automated process, please reach out to your Account Executive to discuss an "Encrypt While Active Solution."

Our team is on standby to provide comprehensive support and assistance throughout this process. Feel free to contact us for detailed guidance or if you need help at any stage of the update.
