    Hello,

We're trying to enable the editing functionality for the first time in our Spectrum Spatial Analyst (v2020.1). Apparently we've done everything that is specified in the documentation, but the "Edit" options don't appear in the MapProject.

Spectrum Spatial Guide - Feature Editing (precisely.com)
    Edit Records (precisely.com)

Some of the things that we have done are:
    - Creating a new functionality profile with the "Editing Tables" option enabled
    - Creating a new MapProject, table (MapInfo TAB) and Spectrum Layer
    - Load the Spectrum layer into the new MapProject
    - Assign the new functionality profile to the new MapProject
    - Create a test user/role with "edit" permissions on the test table
    - Add the user/role to the new MapProject
    - Given to the new user the spatial-dataset-editor and spatial-sub-admin roles
    - Given "Folder permissions" to the new role

The edit options won't appear, independently of if using the test user, or an admin account.

There's definitely something that we're missing, because I see that other users have posted about this functionality, but what? Or otherwise there's something wrong.

    Can somebody help?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Miquel,

I tried the same and it doesn't show add as a feature in my options. Also i tried to do the same with the sql table and it shows 'add as a feature' but however throws an error "service error 500 ok" I am not sure what it means. Hope Precisely can come with some solution.

    Thanks,
    Caleb

    Hello Caleb,

I finally managed to enable that functionality. There's a necessary step that is think is not mentioned in the documentation, that is unchecking the "read-only" tickbox in the table in spatial manager. Once that is done and the other conditions are met, the edit tools start to appear in the MapProject.

I'm not sure about the 500 error that you're experiencing. I haven't tried in SQL server tables yet, only TAB files.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Miquel,

Thanks for sharing that with me.  It works for me too. Also I got the add feature working to the sql table too which needs to do some minor edit on the defaultfeatureedit xml file on the primary key segment.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi all,

Regarding getting around the 500 error for editing a SQL table, ensure that in the spatial manager a column hint is assigned in the repostory settings.

If using SQL server the column hint should be assigned as the MI_PRINX field.
