    Hi all,

I'm using the OSM_Roads.TAB provided by Mapinfo in one of my workspaces and suddenly it stopped working returning a 429 Too Many Requests error.

The most strange thing is that it only happens with Mapinfo 17.0.3 Runtime, when I open the workspace with Mapinfo 17.0.3 Pro it opens alright.

Ps. In Mapinfo 16 Runtime it opens alright as well.

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?

    Kind Regards,
    Nuno Seixas

Yes, I noticed this recently too. I heard something about it could be due to OSM's change of server software which is more picky about the http headers that MapInfo is using? See also: https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/72426/error-429-in-mapinfo-with-osm-tile-server

    Hi all,

Please note that the OpenStreetMap tile servers have been under a lot of pressure in recent days: https://twitter.com/OSM_Tech/status/1239561292572241921?s=20 This is causing some timeouts.

If anyone (PBS perhaps?) can offer additional tile caching that would help the situation.

The response from Support (approved for sharing):

OSM roads are not working with some versions of MapInfo Pro due to changes implemented by the OSMfoundation.org.
The functionality of their servers, which are not maintained by Pitney Bowes, have changed and affected most older versions of MapInfo Pro.
    - If running a 64-bit version, the following versions will work with OSM tiles - v16.0.4 and 17.0.3 and 17.0.4 along with 2019 will work.

    - If running a 32-bit version, a patch is only available for MapInfo Pro v15.0.3 (two new *.dlls that can be downloaded to replace existing files which will correct the problem connecting to OSMroads).

This patch can be provided for customers under MapInfo Pro maintenance.
