Has anyone been able to add the WMS server for the National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL).

    https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/wps/portal/NFHLWMS

I get an XML DOM Document Parsing Error on both MapInfo 16 and 19.3

The FEMA website has this address for the Get Capabilities:

    https://hazards.fema.gov/gis/nfhl/rest/services/public/NFHLWMS/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS

    Hello Jay,

If you're having problems connecting to any OGC-compliant service, it's sometimes useful to try the GetCapabilities URL in a web browser. This will often tell whether the issue is with Pro or the remote service. I've just tried your service end-point below and there's no response for me right now. So, I'd conclude that the service is down at the moment or perhaps isn't where you expected it to be.

    Regards,

    Warren Vick

    Hi Jay

Often when a service responds with errors or doesn't work, I recommend removing "unnecessary" parameters from the URL. In your case, I'd recommend removing the Request parameter as MapInfo Pro will add this automatically.

Can you give this URL a try:
    https://hazards.fema.gov/nfhl/services/public/NFHLWMS/MapServer/WMSServer?service=WMS

That URL successfully connected and shows the different layers.

When I selected one and attempted to add to map I get:

"The server issued the following exception: Parameter 'format' contains unacceptable value."

I tried different image formats but still get the same error.

    Hi Jay

I'm able to connect too, and also select and open a layer into MapInfo Pro.
But I can't seem to locate any data in these layers.

I have now tried a few; Political Juristication and Flood Hazard Zones. Shouldn't there be data for the entire US?

What version of Pro are you using, Jay?

I was able to get the layer open with MapInfo 19 and then open the TAB file connection using MapInfo 16.
There was a difference in the Image Format dropdown between the two versions that I didn't notice before.

There seems to be a zoom layer limitation on the return data for certain layers.

-95.602, 29.560 will show some data in the hazard zones at 5 miles zoom width.

I'm good to go now.  Thank you for your help Peter.
