  • 1.  Downloading Material Type from SAP

    ​​Hello - I'm a relatively new developer user for Studio.  I have a template created to deploy materials using MM01.  My team would like to build some of our DQM rules into the template and script but I'm having trouble.  Many of the validations revolve around material type (MARA - MTART).  I'd like to pull this value into my template directly from SAP but I can't seem to find a way to do so.  I'm mapping the field name into my script as a value downloaded from SAP but nothing is being returned. Has anyone been able to do this?

    Hi Krista -

    Were you wanting to do this in an MM02 or MM03 scenario?  So the material type field is not available in any of the normal material views.  The only place I can see it is if you go into the Environment -> Stock Overview option in the menu bar, and then you can see that field and download it in there.  But this is performance intensive as it takes awhile to get into Stock Overview screen.   I've attached an MM03 example that does this. 

    It's much easier and faster to use the Query module of Studio to download this from the MARA tables.  I've attached an example of this as well.  Feel free to tweak the selection criteria on the Query to best fit your needs.

    question regarding this topic. I also have a file where I would like to pull in the Product Hierarchy Field MVKE-PRODH on Sales org 2 tab. It works for some materials but not for all. The script is to extend materials to a new location/plant using MM02. What would cause some but not all to be pulled? I check in mm03 and it is populated for all materials and sales orgs.
