Hi,
I saw this post a couple of weeks ago and thought that sounds odd, but didn't think more of it.
Then just today I just started seeing similar strange behaviour. I'm selecting polylines in a map window with the cursor. After each manual selections I see "Selection" listed as a query for a second or fraction of a second before changing to "QueryN". However I'm not doing anything with the query which would change it from "selection" to QueryN. Sometimes it happens in a blink of an eye.
I don't have the Mask tool loaded. I'm using MapInfo 2019.2.
I closed and reopened MapInfo and it appears to be working normally again.

Hi Rajiv
Typically, MapInfo Pro renames the Selection to QueryN when you start using the selection, for example if you show it in a browser or similar.
I just tried it in my MapInfo Pro and I'm able to select one record at a time and stick to the Selection only. It's not being renamed to QueryN for every new feature I add to the selection using the Selector in the map window.
Do you have any tools running that might react to the change in the selection? Are you clicking o the features in the map window one at a time to select them?

Subject: Selecting objects creates queries
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to Mapinfo2019.1 and noticed everytime I click on a layer/table it creates a new query instead of "Selection" .
So i'm ending up with huge numbers of queries. how do I change this back to showing just "Selection" when i click single/multiple objects instead of making a new query every time?
Thanks,
