  • 1.  October 2019 International Geocoding Data Refresh now available

    Hello everyone!

    The October 2019 data refresh for geocoding with Spectrum Enterprise Geocoding Module (EGM), Global Geocoding Module (GGM), or the Global Geocoding SDK (GGS) is now available. 

    Highlights of this #quarterlyupdate include the following; see the Release Notes for more detail and installation instructions.

    • Improved performance for Taiwan. Changes were made to greatly increase the speed of the Taiwan geocoder when using latin character datasets. 4% improvement matching house numbers for street data. 
    • Several new datasets (available a la carte). Countries include: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Serbia and United Arab Emrates.  
    • New country geocoders for Moldova and Sri Lanka.
    • ​New Location Precision code (Canada only). If the address point being returned falls within the building boundary, it is still considered an "S8" address-point match, but the new Location Precision code is set to 19 to indicate the point is located within the building.
    • Unit matching changes (New Zealand and Canada only)​. Matching is more precise and the candidate's UnitValue and UnitType fields are populated only if there is a match in the reference data.

    ​Datasets for this data refresh are available on the Pitney Bowes store or in the Software Data Marketplace (SDM).

    Here are the release notes for the July data refresh; the next one will be mid-October.

    While we do not publish product roadmaps, we do continuously improve geocoding coverage and quality and describe those improvements on a quarterly basis in our release notes. If you have specific input for the roadmap or additional questions, please reach out to your primary contact at Precisely.
