In Single Customer View (SCV) we sometimes need to create multiple customer records from a single record in order to create a repository of consolidated master customers.
- For example a financial institution may need to extract from each bank transaction both customer and external customer information involved that transaction and create individual records for each customer and external customer
- In another example, a business may want to extract company information from an individual person lead record and create a separate lead record for the company or organization information entered for that person
- In another example, a company may want to extract each name into separate customer record if multiple customer or conjoined names exist in a single record
We often use the Spectrum Universal Name Module Open Name Parser stage to split up to three conjoined names into multiple records, however we sometimes have more than three names in a single field and not in a conjoined format and we sometimes have our customer information in different fields. In this case, we can use Groovy script in a Custom transform to extract the customer information from each record and build a Spectrum List variable with all unique values for each customer. We then use the Splitter stage to convert hierarchical data to flat data.
