  • 1.  Use Compression for REST Services?

    Posted 03-18-2020 04:36
    Hello everyone.

Is it possible to activate GZIP compression for Spectrum REST Services?

My service expects a JSON file for request and returns a JSON as an answer.
The input JSON should contain a minimum of 1,000 records with ca. 30 attributes for every record.
Spectrum seems not to accept such large files.
Because of that I want to use GZIP compressed JSONs.

Is there any hidden option to allow compressed files in Spectrum Services?
The only thing I found is GZIP mentioned in the JMX Console ( org.eclipse.jetty.webapp:context=rest,id=0,type=webappcontext )

    Can you help me?

    Thanks.

    BR,
    Max

    Hi Max,

I checked with Engineering.  There is no setting to enable compression for REST.
