New in this EngageOne Designer / Generate / Interactive Editors Release

EngageOne Generate support for Solaris 11 on SPARC

    • This release adds support for Oracle Solaris Generate execution on the Solaris 11.1+ (SPARC) platform using the doc1sun64host.tar distribution
    • The minimum JAVA JDK JRE required for Plug in charts on this platform is Oracle Java 8.
    • Refer to the "Software changes in this release" document accompanying this release for a library path example.

EngageOne Designer Publish for EngageOne Server performance improvement

    • Designer Publish when publishing Design Publications to EngageOne Server templates has been significantly optimized where the Design Publication is published from a Project where ALL Design assets (Publications, Active content, Devices, etc) are contained within a SINGLE Project, such as an upgraded "Default" Design project upgraded from DOC1 Designer 5.x versions.
    • In supported Designer 6.6.x versions prior to this improvement users should aim to segregate their Design assets (Publications, etc) into separate projects (e.g by Business function) to improve Publish performance
    • Design performance can be improved in all versions by using  6.x Versioning features such as Project Branch / Merge / Delete to regularly houseclean unwanted / obsolete assets.

EngageOne Generate Server mode update for Windows and UNIX host "Dynamic" port allocation

    • This release adds support to Generate Server mode for an autogenerated socket / port number to be requested and allocated by the Operating System. This is then reported to the Generate user via a new Generate message.
    • Windows Example
             start doc1gen mode=d "<Server>CommandQueue=Host:localhost:0" ecp=doc1ecp MMGX

    • UNIX Example
             ./doc1gen mode=d "<Server>CommandQueue=SOCK:127.0.01:0" ecp=doc1ecp MMGX

.. where requested port "0" produces an operating system unique port number which is reported via new Generate             message GEN0864I thus at Generate Server mode startup :

    GEN0864I Socket allocated: 'xxxxx'

.. where 'xxxxx' is the unique new port number which can then be used for subsequent unique service requests.
Refer to the GEN0864I entry within the Diagnostic Message Guide available from the release media for further details.

EngageOne Generate update for PDF Open Type Font (.OTF) ANSI languages

    • This release updates Generate PDF output where the Design editor ANSI (Western Europe, Nordic and Americas) language uses an Open Type Font (.OTF) format , to produce corrected PDF Open Type Font  "Type1" sub-type output.
    • This correction allows Generate PDF OTF output to conform to the PDF Open Type Font format specification,  pass PDF tools validation,  and successfully print on PDF printers.

EngageOne Generate update for Variable number of Delimited Repeating Group fields

    • This release updates Generate output to cater for Delimited Repeating Group fields controlled by a Data Format defined Governor field containing different values for different instances of the Repeating Group.
    • The update also allows correct execution of the Non Repeating Group fields defined AFTER these Variable number of Repeating Field groups.
