  • 1.  Connect ETL installation on AIX

    I see there is one document for this product, the installation guide.  

    I cannot find in that document any references to the following:

    1. what is the storage footprint for installing the software on AIX (how much space for the application itself)?
    2. any specific limit settings for the connectuser account
    3. for oracle connections, does the software work ok with oracle instant client, or is the full thick client required?

    I got these details from my colleague Marco Kopp:

    1. what is the storage footprint for installing the software on AIX (how much space for the application itself)?
    • Answer: The application itself requires a bit more than 1 GB but it's always recommended to have some additional buffer for future updates etc.
    2. any specific limit settings for the connectuser account
    • Answer: Specific limit settings are usually not required.
    3. for oracle connections, does the software work ok with oracle instant client, or is the full thick client required?
    • Answer: Oracle connection can be established via JDBC or ODBC. Connect ETL connects to Oracle databases through the OCI API, which is a component of the Oracle (instant) client software.
