In PROD ER, there have occasionally been adjustments being approved that are out of balance.  Are you aware of any enhancements to the workflow that we can implement to mitigate this behavior?  We understand that with our current configuration, if a user does not tab out of an edited field the entry validation rules are not triggered.

If there hasn’t been an enhancement, is there currently something in the road map that would validate for out of balances at a different point, either in a workflow rule?

There are currently no enhancements on the roadmap around this, though perhaps I need a more clear picture on what is taking place.

Walking through the logic of how ER will processes this, the entry validation rules validate individual entries in an adjustment, though will not check its overall balance. The adjustment structure rule is the piece that will check the total balance. The structure rules are always checked on the server side when a user submits adjustments, regardless how the entries are edited.

This may be the first piece we want to take a closer look at. If the adjustment needs manual approval, then the team can additionally create balance checks in the approval workflow rules; These rules are executed on the server side too, regardless of user edits to entries.
