    I'm starting a new thread to cover Street Manager release announcements to keep these separate from detailed functional discussions.  This should hopefully make it easier for people to find release updates quickly without having to trawl through other posts.

    We were hoping to release our next update today but some minor changes released by Street Manager on Thursday have required us to make a few tweaks, so we are hoping to have the release available by Monday, 13th January.

    Please watch this thread for further updates.

    Please can I request that customers do not respond on this thread so that we can keep it as lean as possible.

    Hi,

    I'm pleased to announce that the next release of the Confirm Street Manager interface is now available to download here.  OnDemand beta participants will be upgraded soon and updated on this thread.

    The attached documentation includes the release notes for the current version.
    The following breaking change is introduced in this release:

    • The Confirm Street Manager interface is now included in a full Confirm Task Processor installation rather than by using Windows Task Scheduler.  The new Task Processor can run in a decoupled mode, allowing it to connect to earlier versions of the Confirm database (back to version 18.20).  The new decoupled Task Processor cannot be installed on the same server as your main Task Processor.

    If you have been using earlier versions of Street Manager interface through the StreetManagerAgent.zip folder files, you need to stop the old Windows scheduled task and use the Task Processor.

    Please refer to the installation section of the attached documentation for further details.

    The Confirm OnDemand environment has now been upgraded with the new version.

    You can now self-serve to activate the Street Manager interface with Confirm.  The steps for this are as follows:

    Go to the decoupled Confirm Web Street Works Settings page to set up the URLs and add your accounts.  This can be accessed using a URL like this:

    https://beta-development-webservices.ondemand.confirm.co.uk/confirm/web/app/?tenant=<Insert your profile name here>#/settings

    This is basically the same as the standard Confirm Web URL but with "beta-" in front of it.  Enter the following in the two first fields:

    Street Manager URL: https://api.sandbox.stwrks-dev.net/v1/
    Document Proxy URL: https://beta-development-webservices.ondemand.confirm.co.uk/confirm/web/

    Then add your account details in bottom section.

    When you are ready to try out the interface go to the Scheduled Tasks screen in Confirm and add "<V20.11>" to the Notes field for the STREET WORKS TRANSFER task.

    You will still need to contact us if you want to add a list of organisations for automatic Street Manager noticing.  Note that you do not need to provide this list for works that you receive via Street Manager from external promoters.  You can also manually add the "STWRKS" recipient to a works you are promoting if you want to do an ad-hoc test.

    The Confirm OnDemand Production environment has now been configured to support Street Manager integration.

    You can activate the new Task Processor before April 1st as it will continue to support EToN where required, but please note: when you activate the decoupled Task Processor (by setting the version in the Notes) the new Task Processor will automatically make all of the lookup changes (e.g. new Inspection Items, Condition Types, etc.) in your Production database.  The new lookups are backward compatible with EToN, but please ensure that you have familiarised yourselves with them in your Development environment before activating the Task Processor in Production.


    We are planning one further upgrade before April 1st, which we hope will be on the 20th March, depending on what changes Street Manager release on the 19th.  This change will include the transition functionality in addition other enhancements.

    A common issue people are facing when configuring the credentials is seeing a "We can't let you in" message.  You need to make sure that your Confirm user has access to the "Confirm Web Settings" screen under System Administration > System Configuration.

    Hi all,

    Confirm team will conduct a webinar on Monday 23rd March 10 AM on the Street Manager project. 

    The Street Manager go-live date of 1st April is approaching and we are about to release the next version of our Street Manager interface, which will be used through the go-live period.  This webinar will cover everything that customers need to do to prepare for the transition, describe the most recently developed functionality and explain what additional functionality will be delivered in a subsequent release (before 30th April).  The full agenda is as follows: 

    • Explain the process of registering with Street Manager and activating the Confirm Street Manager interface.
    • Talking through the Transition process and highlighting any potential issues.
    • Walk through of the latest functionality and documentation.
    • Describing the functionality that is not yet available, the impact of this and to agree suitable time scales for deployment.
    • Discuss the process for raising issues found during go-live.

     We plan to release the next version on the afternoon of Monday, 23rd March, assuming that no critical issues are identified during the discussion.

    For those who haven't seen this, the go-live for Street Manager has been delayed from 1st April to 1st July.

    We will still release an upgrade with what we've done so far ASAP once we've updated the default transition dates that are generated.

    We have noticed an issue with exporting Modified Applications from Confirm since the Sandbox upgrade this afternoon.  We are waiting for a response from the DfT if this will be resolved by them or whether we will need to make changes in our latest release, which e were hoping to send out this evening.

    I'll post further updates as soon as I have more information.

    The next release of the Confirm Street Manager interface, version 20.12a.AM.15542, is now available to download here.  Please double-check the version number on the store as it can take a few hours for the upload to propagate.

    The OnDemand development environment has been upgraded and production will be upgraded tomorrow.

    Hi All,

    We've noticed a couple of issues since UK switched to daylight saving.  We are currently not doing the correct conversion when we export FPN offence dates and reinstatement dates to Street Manager so these will appear in Street Manager one hour ahead of the time in Confirm.  This can also cause Street Manager to reject the data saying that dates can't be in the future.  Retrying after an hour will resolve this.  We will include a fix for this in our next release.

    We've also noticed another issue with the LondonWorks interface (Central Street Works Register Export Settings) where this can cause data downloaded from Street Manager to be immediately re-exported again, potentially creating a new works phase in Street Manager.  I'm not aware that there is any reason to have the London Works interface active anymore (even under EToN) so would advise all customers to deactivate it.  We have already done this for all OnDemand development environments.

    Hi All,

    We have a great deal of feedback from customer testing over the past weeks and have found a number of issues which I'm listing below so everyone is aware.  We hope to release an update to address as many of these as possible in the next few days:

    • If the new Agent is activated and an FPN that was sent over EToN is marked as Paid then this reverts back to a status of "Penalty Sent" when the Agent next runs.  We can provide SQL to fix this if you experience this problem
    • The Permit scheme for an application is not being determined correctly from the Street Interests on import from Street Manager and is always using the system default "dummy" permit scheme
    • The Activity Type for Activities generated when exporting Street Works Licences from Confirm to Street Manager is always set to "Section 50" rather than this being determined from the Notice Type name
    • Works that use the new "Works for road purposes" Activity Type in Street Manager cannot be imported into Confirm
    • If an application from Confirm is rejected by Street Manager because of a lack of early start reason (in the notice comments) it is not possible to correct this if a subsequent notice was added in Confirm before the first notice was sent.  We plan to automatically add a default early start reason when resending old notices to resolve this
    • The Duration Challenge notice is not created in Confirm when importing a "Granted with duration challenge" permit decision from Street Manager
    • Registrations where trenches are defined as polygons are not being exported to Street Manager
    • If one of the new Apparatus Inspection Categories is used from ConfirmConnect then the resulting works are incorrectly classified as "Unattributable works".  This is an issue with the main Confirm Connector and cannot be directly resolved with a "decoupled" upgrade.  We plan to resolve this as part of the export process, which will correct the notice back to "Defective Apparatus" if appropriate.  We recommend that the new Inspection Categories are not used until this issue is fixed

    We have also seen occasional "forbidden" errors when sending works to Street Manager.  We are aware of a bug in Street Manager where this can occur if any text field contains a certain set of words as the first word after a new line.  We've seen the problem with the words "Date", "Set", "Replace" and "Start" at the start of a new line.  You can work around this by prefixing the word with a hyphen.  We've been told that this should be addressed in the next Street Manager release.

    Regarding the Forbidden errors from Street Manager, we've found that these can also occur if one of the "special" words occurs after an "&" character.  e.g. "Time & Date".  we've been told that Street Manager plan to fix this soon.

    We plan to make the download for on-premise customers available later today.  A further announcement will be made when this is available.

    Hi All,

    We've found a few issues in the most recent version which you should be aware of:

    1. When importing Grant decisions from Street Manager you will get an error email if the Grant did not contain a duration challenge.  This is a cosmetic error and the Grant is still imported
    2. We have noticed that transition comments for works contain both the granted and deemed date, which can be confusing.

    We will aim to fix these in the next release.

    We have also found that some customers are using the organisation list setting to manage a controlled go-live.  This can result in ongoing works (that you promote) being immediately transitioned (mid phase) to Street Manager which may not be desirable.  We would recommend bringing the Transition Start Date forward, rather than using the organisation list, if you just want new works that you promote to start using Street Manager
