    The MAPINFO schema where the MAPINFO-CATALOG table is stored. Can the name be changed?

    No, I don't think so as MapInfo Pro is looking for the MapInfo_MapCatalog table in that schema

    No it cannot.  Can you tell us what you are trying to accomplish by changing the Map_Catalog schema?

    It is because you are working on a shared database, and if in the future two or more applications other than MAPINFO connect to that database, it may generate an error.
