    Hi,

I'm using v2019.3, and I am sure there used to be an option to create a thematic map using the "join" feature.

I have 2 tables which share the same field, although the fields do not have the same name they have the same info.

All I see on the list of options under "field" are the normal field names, and "Expression" (which doesn't give an option for joining to data from a different table). Did it used to say "join" or am I going mad?

    Thanks :)

Discovered the problem - I was trying to do thematics on a sub-set of data.

Turns out you can't use "join" thematics when it's only a subset of the original file, despite it being an SQL rather than a spatial subset. D'Oh!

But then you can "switch off" ranges/categories/individual themes from the Layer Control...
Almost a query in that sense. I like that bit.
