  • 1.  Opening an ?ENVI .hdf file in MapInfo

    Hi all,

I have a file which I believe is an ENVI file, in .hdf format with associated hdf.met file. I can't see a way to open it in MapInfo, and as a novice with FME it's failing any sort of transformation to MapInfo format in that too. I can save it to a GEOtiff in FME but it seems to lose its projection information in the process, and create multiple band files rather than a single file, which isn't much good to me.

It's satellite imagery, and opens fine in (shhh....) arcGIS  (she says very quietly) so does anyone know how I can open it in MapInfo? Arc seems to know to open it and display by default as several different bands.

    Many thanks in advance
    Caroline

    Hello Caroline,

Currently we don't support reading .hdf file format in MapInfo.
We can look into supporting this file format in future release of MapInfo.

    Thanks

Ahh, that's a shame. Yes, it would be great to support this file typ. Especially as ArcGISPro opens it no problem ;)
