  • 1.  Capturing Info Tool list / records into a MIP Table or Export

    Posted 10-27-2021 00:19
    Hi,

Can anyone offer any insight into the capturing of displayed tabular information about the map object or layer, into a MIP table or export?

=> MIP Pro | Info Tool, in my case the layer I'm interrogating has 111 overlapping polygons and 1-record for each polygon (please see screenshots attached)

If I could export the list from the 'Info Tool' as shown in the screenshot to a MIP table, this would be remarkable, and would save me hours (no more copy & paste or writing out long hand)

    Cheers, Mike

    Hi Mike,

This is a very good suggestion. I have added a backlog item for us to look into it.
I am thinking of a button to either turn it into the selection or to expose it as an ad-hoc query table.
In either case you could then save copy as or export it.

I have not yet found a way to get the list of rowids in shipping versions.

    Hi Mike,

It looks like the mapbasic function SearchPoint() would find the same records as the info tool.

See the mapbasic help topic for it.

    Hi Bob,

    Thank you!

Will check your suggestion out: SearchPoint() would find the same records as the info tool

I would need to run this in MapBasic? which I'm not overly familiar with Bob

I also, just logged into Marketplace and found heaps of cool tools (Peter H, sent a how to)

    Cheers, Mike
