I have disabled Advanced Pack because it has ruined several workspaces, that I then had to recover from backups.

Advanced Pack makes a terrible assumption that you want the workspace that you have been working on saved, then the table is packed and the saved workspace is re-loaded.

This tool should be changed to save the workspace as a temp.wor, reload that, and let the user know that they have to save the workspace if they want to. Much better than what has been happening now. I had to totally disable the tool.

And we actually have fixed this now. When packing you can now decide if you want to "old" method of loosing the table from the windows, or if you want the new method where MapInfo Pro saves a workspace before packing and then reopens the workspace afterwards.
